Contemporary art enthusiasts were on Thursday invited to an experimental theatre performance by the Neapolitan troupe Teatri 35 at the Kote Marjanishvili State Drama Theatre in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi, with the company bringing to life works by Michelangelo and Raphael – two of the most celebrated artists of the Italian Renaissance – through a blend of performance, fine arts, and music.
Entitled Michelangelo and Raphael the Genius and the Divine, the show involved up to 20 masterpieces while employing “expressive gestures, vivid colours, and evocative imagery that immersed the audience in the essence of Renaissance artistry”, the Italian Embassy to the country said on Friday.
