The Georgian national trampoline team made history by clinching a bronze medal, marking their inaugural podium appearance at the prestigious World Trampoline Championships held in Birmingham, UK. According to the United Georgian Gymnastics Federation, this remarkable achievement was announced on a Monday.
The women’s squad, comprising talented athletes Luba Golovina, Anano Apakidze, Mariam Ragimov, and Teona Janjgava, showcased their skills and determination by advancing to the final stage of the competition. Eventually, they secured a commendable third-place finish, trailing behind powerhouse nations China and France.
The Federation expressed immense pride, labeling this accomplishment as a groundbreaking moment for independent Georgia. Their social media message highlighted the significance of this milestone: “For the first time in the history of independent Georgia, our team not only reached the final but also secured medals.”
The event, the 37th edition of the Championships, drew participation from over 1,000 gymnasts representing more than 40 countries. The Utilita Arena in Birmingham served as the backdrop for this exhilarating and globally attended competition.
