Over the weekend, Georgia’s vibrant capital, Tbilisi, played host to an exciting inaugural event—the Tbilisi VR Days. This groundbreaking occasion, spanning from Friday to Sunday, was a collaboration between the French Embassy in Georgia, the Center of Contemporary Art in Tbilisi, and Film XR, a media production company.
The event showcased a captivating array of the latest award-winning French films in virtual reality. Attendees were treated to an immersive journey through diverse fictional realms via storytelling that pushes the boundaries of immersion.
Notably, the Center of Contemporary Art in Tbilisi served as the hub for this experience, where guests had the exclusive opportunity to explore innovative Georgian virtual reality works.
Part of the esteemed ‘Novembre Numerique’ competition by the French Institute of Georgia, the Tbilisi VR Days presented three distinct programs: French interactive experiences, French immersive films, and a special selection of Georgian VR films. This diverse selection provided a platform for both local and international creators to exhibit their groundbreaking works in the realm of virtual reality.
