The Japanese capital city of Tokyo hosted a presentation of Georgian wine with the support of the National Wine Agency of the country and Sakura Japan Women’s Wine Awards, the Agency said on Tuesday.
The presentation featured two main segments – a wine tasting led by Ana Godabrelidze, the Tasting Commission Chair at the Agency, and a master class by Tamta Kvelaidze, the Head of the body’s PR and Marketing Department, and focused on pairing Georgian wines with traditional Japanese cuisine.
Godabrelidze and Kvelaidze were invited as jury members for the ongoing Sakura Awards. The Agency said this year’s competition had marked the 11th iteration of the event that highlighted contributions of women in the industry, and featured a jury made up of sommeliers, wine writers, and journalists from Japan.
