Nika Qutelia, a digital artist hailing from Georgia, is gearing up for a spotlight appearance in an art exhibition featuring AI-generated works at the recently inaugurated Shoreditch Arts Club in London. This event brings together a diverse group of creatives to mark the launch of a novel online AI art platform.

Dubbed the “Exactly.ai Exhibition,” this showcase aims to promote the eponymous platform. Organizers assert that their goal is to champion a form of AI art creation that places a strong emphasis on acknowledging and respecting authorship. This initiative arises from mounting concerns within the art world about AI-generated art that draws from human-created works without duly crediting the original artists.

For this exhibition, AI technology has been employed to produce artworks that faithfully emulate the unique styles of the featured artists. Crucially, the AI models generated in this process are considered the intellectual property of the artists themselves. This ownership arrangement allows the artists to sell their AI-generated works via the platform, as emphasized by the event organizers.

These digital artworks, inspired by the creative expressions of Nika Qutelia and his fellow artists, will be presented using expansive projectors within the Shoreditch Arts Club, which opened its doors in March.

Nika Qutelia had previously garnered attention through his inaugural solo exhibition in Tbilisi back in October. At this exhibition, his works were on display at The Why Not Gallery. His artistic practice is deeply intertwined with cutting-edge technologies, including computer-generated imagery and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Notably, he specializes in crafting realistic simulations of diverse textures and materials.

Describing his creative process, Qutelia eloquently portrays it as the embodiment of “phantom bridges between the past and the future.” Beyond his solo work, he has actively engaged in collaborations with music artists, record labels, as well as fashion designers and brands.

The exhibition at the Shoreditch venue is slated to open this Friday and will graciously welcome visitors from 6 pm to 10 pm.
