Nestled in the center of Georgia’s picturesque hilly landscapes, the quaint high-altitude town of Mestia will be the venue for the Global Trekking Extravaganza from July 20th to 22nd, 2023. The event, curated by HIGHLANDER Adventure Georgia, is a pioneering program designed to showcase the extraordinary trekking opportunities Georgia has to offer.
A prelude to the main event took place on June 29th with a presentation and press briefing in Orbet, Satibe. Hosted by the Svaneti destination management organization, DMO Shan-Land, and organized in collaboration with HIGHLANDER Adventure Georgia, the gathering enjoyed backing from various international bodies, including the Economic Security Program of the European Union, Sweden, Austria, and USAID. The occasion provided a stage to emphasize the forthcoming festival and highlight the pivotal role of ecological mountain tourism in strengthening Georgia’s economy.
In this session, the Highlander crew, in conjunction with several stakeholders, banded together to accentuate the fact that the Global Trekking Extravaganza is not simply an occasion; it serves as a driving force to boost sustainable and environmentally-friendly adventure tourism in Georgia. The meeting was also designed to galvanize the next round of enrollments for the primary Highlander event, thereby gathering steam towards the festival.
Participants at the pre-event presentation got the chance to delve deeper into the Highlander’s mission, partake in a press briefing, sign up for the main event, and experience a mini-trekking adventure in Orbit.
HIGHLANDER Adventure Georgia has earned accolades for its commitment to sustainability.
