ith the support of the National Wine Agency and organized by the agency’s contractor marketing company Red Bridge, a presentation of Georgian wine was held in the Japanese city of Fukuoka.
Kenichi Ohashi—Japan’s only Master of Wine and Director of Red Bridge—delivered a comprehensive presentation on Georgia’s winemaking history, native grape varieties, and its modern wine industry. The event featured a tasting of eight Georgian wines from various wine regions of the country.
Attendees included wine sommeliers, importers, buyers, representatives of trade networks, and media professionals—about 100 guests in total.
Fukuoka, a major industrial port city in Japan, is a strategic location for Georgian wine promotion. Marketing activities there are considered vital for increasing awareness and demand for Georgian wine both in Fukuoka Prefecture and across the broader Japanese market.
The National Wine Agency has been working with Red Bridge since 2017. The company has implemented numerous marketing campaigns for Georgian wine in Japan—considered a priority export market. These initiatives aim to boost the visibility of Georgian wine and drive long-term growth in demand.
