Ekaterine Gorgodze, a tennis player from Georgia, along with her doubles partner Dalila Jakupovic from Slovenia, emerged victorious in the Wrocław Open tennis tournament. They clinched the championship title by triumphing over their opponents in the final match.
In the decisive showdown, the pairing of Gorgodze and Jakupovic, hailing from Georgia and Slovenia respectively, outplayed the Polish team comprised of Daria Kuczer and Weronika Ewald. The match unfolded in a competitive manner, with Gorgodze and Jakupovic securing a 6-4 win in the first set, followed by Kuczer and Ewald bouncing back with a 4-6 victory in the second set. Ultimately, Gorgodze and Jakupovic sealed their victory by claiming the super tiebreaker with a score of 10-7.
Remarkably, Ekaterine Gorgodze, who is 31 years old, has now accumulated her 33rd doubles title in International Tennis Federation tournaments.
