Radisson Blu Tbilisi Hosts Georgia’s First Bluefin Tuna Cutting Show

March 4, 20252 min read

On March 1st, the Umami restaurant at the Radisson Blu Tbilisi welcomed guests with a unique spectacle. For the first time in Georgia, a bluefin tuna cutting ceremony took place, with the tuna specially imported from Spain by “Unicorn Solutions,” a distribution company founded by Silk Road Group. The ceremony was led by Radisson Blu Tbilisi’s executive chef, Irakli Todadze, who later prepared set menus for the guests.

Notably, bluefin tuna is extremely difficult to obtain on a global scale, making this type of tuna an even more valuable product with a distinctive taste.

The Asian restaurant Umami has been offering Japanese, Chinese, Thai, and other Southeast Asian cuisines to Radisson Blu Tbilisi guests for several years. For over two years, Unicorn Solutions has been providing the hotel and restaurant guests with exclusive products directly from Paris’s renowned Rungis market.

Umami has been part of the Radisson Blu Tbilisi for over a decade. Experienced chefs Irakli Todadze and Davit Tsetskhladze consistently work on the diverse Asian menu, ensuring that Umami remains a go-to place for true sushi lovers in Tbilisi.

“Over the years, we have maintained our status as the best Asian restaurant in Tbilisi, which is truly gratifying. At the same time, with the support of the Silk Hospitality team, we constantly think about new ideas, innovations, and exceptional gastronomic experiences,” said Irakli Todadze, Executive Chef of Radisson Blu Tbilisi.

The cutting ceremony was a fascinating experience for all guests who watched it for the first time and then tasted the specially imported bluefin tuna from Spain. From today, the Umami restaurant will offer a variety of dishes prepared with this exceptional tuna.
