Slavyansky Bazaar 2023″ Crowns Masha Mnjoyan as the Grand Prix Winner

The 32nd rendition of the internationally recognized young performer’s competition, “Slavyansky Bazaar 2023”, was held in the city of Vitebsk, Belarus, from July 14-16. This year saw participation from 15 countries, including Armenia, represented by the talented singer Masha Mnjoyan.

ARMENPRESS reports that Mnjoyan captivated audiences and judges alike over the two-day event with her exceptional performances and commanding stage presence. On the inaugural day, she performed “Пообещай мне любовь” (Promise me love), a composition of Yevgeny Krylatov with lyrics by Igor Voznesensky, earning 66 points from the panel. The following day, she chose Aretha Franklin’s “Respect” as an international hit to perform, garnering a further 69 points.

These performances led Mnjoyan to accumulate a total of 135 points, clinching the coveted Grand Prix award and emerging as the outright victor of the distinguished competition. This marked a historical moment as Armenia claimed victory at the “Slavyansky Bazaar” young performers competition for the first time.

At the “Slavyansky Bazaar 2023”, the contestant from Belarus bagged the 1st prize. The 2nd prize was jointly won by representatives from Russia and Uzbekistan, and the 3rd prize was shared between the contestants from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

In the children’s song competition of the “Slavyansky Bazaar 2023”, held from July 12-14, 10-year-old Anahit Galstyan of Armenia emerged as one of the crowd favorites. She impressively secured 2nd place with a score of 133 points.
