The 67th Ballon d’Or Awards unfolded on Tuesday, October 31st, at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, France.
The evening’s standout moment occurred when Lionel Messi secured the Best Men’s Player accolade, marking his eighth consecutive win, a record-breaking feat. Aitana Bonmati, a prominent figure in Barcelona Femeni and the Spanish national team, was honored with the Best Women’s Player award.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the talented Georgian footballer representing Napoli, clinched the 17th spot among the Ballon d’Or nominees. He graced the event with his wife, expressing his overwhelming joy, “Attending such a ceremony is a dream come true for me. I never thought I’d be here one day. It’s a true pleasure to be among these extraordinary players, the very best in football. I’m thrilled to be counted among them,” he shared with the press.
The 2023 Ballon d’Or, presented by France Football magazine, acknowledged the premier football talents of the 2022-23 season. Notably, this marked the second time in the award’s history that it was based on a season’s performance rather than a calendar year, encompassing the period from August 1, 2022, to July 31, 2023.
