The Under-23 World Wrestling Championship concluded in Tirana, the capital of Albania. On the competition’s final day, Georgian wrestlers made a remarkable mark by securing the gold medal.

In the 55 kg weight category for Greco-Roman wrestling, Giorgi Tokhadze clinched the highest standard gold medal. He gathered an impressive total of 38 points from his four opponents, while conceding just two points. It took him a mere 4 minutes and 39 seconds to triumph over all four adversaries.

Romeo Beridze earned the silver medal in the 60 kg weight category, and Khvicha Ananidze secured the bronze medal in the 77 kg weight class.

In the team competition, Turkey stood atop the rankings, amassing one gold, three silver, and two bronze medals, accruing a total of 121 points. Azerbaijan followed closely, claiming second place with one silver and three bronze medals and a score of 93 points. Georgia finished in third place with 78 points.

It’s worth noting that Russian wrestlers, who competed without representing their country, managed to secure an impressive five gold medals, mirroring the success of their freestyle counterparts.
